    A BIG THANK YOU to Marina Mandarin Singapore for inviting HWA beneficiaries on 2/7/2019.Our beneficiaries enjoyed the activities of Towel Origami, Art & Craft & Cookie decoration. The event ended with an Ukelele performance by HWA members, playing 4 songs to the volunteers & fellow volunteers. We are grateful to MMS Management for their hospitality and taking time out to interact with our members.

    Wheel, Walk or Jog & Family Carnvial 2019
    27 April 2019 was a momentous occasion for Handicaps Welfare Association.  As one of the main activities in its 50th Anniversary celebrations,  our members turned up for a fun day at the family carnival.  The members and volunteers were treated to an array of performances including HWA’s very own ukulele group accompanied by volunteers from JP Morgan.  There were concerns about precipitation judging from the week of showers and the heavy downpour in the wee hours of the morning.   • In memory of Eric Chew
    With great sadness, we received news that Eric Chew Wah Cheng had passed away on the 23rd of March 2019. We remember him for his numerous contributions to HWA and his leadership as President of HWA (1986/1987)
  • Madam Halimah Yacob visits Handicaps Welfare Association
    Our heartfelt thank you to Mdm Halimah Yacob for visiting HWA in the afternoon of 5th December 2018 to inaugurate our newly renovated premises and understand how we serve our members and clients who are physically challenged.     Mdm Ohn Kyi Kyi has been with HWA for 20 years and was a manager with the HWA Jurong Point Rehabilitation Centre until July 2018, when she retired after a long career in physiotherapy. Mdm Kyi Kyi stumbled onto physiotherapy by a stroke of luck. When she was a fresh graduate majoring in Physics in Myanmar, her sister submitted her details in an application for a physiotherapy course thinking it was related to physics.
