Mr Alan Pek Kian Aik


President

Mr Pek Kian Aik (Alan) works as Assistant Vice president with the Technology organization of a global bank where he has worked for over 26 years. As a senior member of the team, he oversees global IT infrastructure and is trained in machine language, cloud and artificial intelligence. Alan is a senior member of the bank’s employee resource group focusing on disability inclusion. He has been working with HWA as an ExCo member since 2013. An optimist at heart, Alan believes that attitude defines dimensions of living.

Ms Heather Wong Liang Le


Vice President

Heather Wong is a successful entrepreneur and chartered accountant who has founded her own e-commerce startup. She also shares her knowledge as a university lecturer in corporate law and is passionate about championing disability inclusion.

Ms. Wee Toon Lin


Honorary Secretary

Ms Wee Toon Lin was formerly from the civil service industry and had various experiences in supervisory, financial and administrative roles. She is passionate in volunteering her services after working hours.

Ms. Michelle Siew Teok See


Honorary Assistant Secretary

Ms Michelle Siew is a retired Senior Manager (Resouce Management) and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource. She has served in HWA for many years and is very passionate about the developmental and emotional needs of the disability community.

Ms. Desiree Lim Kok Liang


Honorary Treasurer

With over 22 years of service as HWA Board Member, Desiree brings her extensive expertise and dedication to the association. She has a distinguished 50-year career in accounting, rising from junior roles to management positions within the construction industry.

Desiree's journey of growth at HWA extends beyond her contributions to the board. She pursued learning to drive through HWA, reflecting her commitment to personal development and independence. She represented Singapore as a Paralympic sailor in 2002, 2008, and 2012, and is currently active in the sport of para lawn bowls and the promotion of short mat (a shorter version of lawn bowls) among the public community. She also actively participates in HWA's drumming activities, showcasing her talent in public performances.

Mr. Edgar Cheong Tuck Mun


Honorary Assistant Treasurer
Mr. Edgar Cheong holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychological Science and is currently a manager at SkillsFuture. Previously, he worked on Early Intervention Programmes with the Early Childhood Development Agency.

In his spare time, Edgar is passionate about advocating for the disability community and participates in Wheelchair Rugby, a disability sport.
